Photography Basics
Bring your camera (and your camera manual) along to learn valuable photography tips. Covering photography basics;
- including technical terminology
-lighting and camera settings
We will help you to take better photographs! The class begins as an information session and ends with a hands-on fun, indoor/outdoor shoot session.
For the practical session, you are welcome to bring an object to photograph. For example: a stuffed toy, tea pot, jewellery box - anything with which to practice indoor photography.

Basics 101 introduces you to the Quick Fix and Full Edit sections of Photoshop/Photoshop Elements. These features will allow you to edit and enhance your photos with confidence. This class focuses on the tools used for colour correction, colour conversion and cropping.
Techniques and tools taught include:
- Workspace Arena
- Opening and Saving a Photo file
- Cropping and image resizing for more accurate printing
- Simple colour corrections, such as how to lighten a photo and correct colour tones
- The various and best ways in which to create a black and white or sepia image
- Healing & Clone Tools
- An introduction to layering
- Lastly, how to create a black and white photo with a dash of colour.

Saturday 1st August, with Permission to Play (photoshop class 2) followed by Creative Play (photoshop class 3)
Sunday 9th August - Photoshoot in this class we will be going on location, and you are more than welcome to bring your family along. Melissa will be instructing us and also taking some photos, which she is going to give to participants. Take what you have learnt from Photography Basics and put it into real practice. This one is $45.00
Following the photoshoot, photoshop class 4 - The Process of Editing, where we will edit the photos just taken.$55.00
